Nice hospitality, great service, tasty food oooh ,the scent of the place, enough parking good accommodations, you always feel like at home ,I never experienced that life before since I started having vacations, the great view looks of the night 🌙

It is perfect for a romantic holiday with a loved one .soo private nice swimming pool .great customer service and above all a very condusive environment and great hoapitality from workers .was a nice experince .

Great family awesome place highly recommended! The view in Kythera…! Great hospitality and customer service by Vanessa and Eleanna. Rooms-pool-restaurant and the whole place was always clean and tidy. We will come back for sure next summer!

El Sol is located on the hillside overlooking the bay of Kapsali. This means a steep walk down to the beach which takes about 15 minutes (and about 25 back up !) but transport was available. The views are amazing; both across the sea and up to the town of Chora. We stayed at the beginning of the season and so it was very quiet but due to the layout of the rooms you wouldn't be disturbed by other guests. A buffet breakfast -hot and cold food- was served on the terrace by the pool (from 8.30-11.am) and was of an excellent quality; the honey and home-made jam were a treat. The whole site was clean and always tidy. Staff were always around but not intrusive. We were impressed by everything but especially the staff who were so welcoming and kind. We would definitely return.

The hotel is located on a hill with a beautiful view of the sea and the town of Kithira. The facilities are nice, showing their age a little but continuous upkeep is evident. Kithira is a beautiful islands with many things to see and your hosts at the Hotel El Sol are more than capable of guiding you properly for a good time!

This dynamic Hotel Owner and Staff have made it quite simple to say yes we will be back. The atmosphere here is charged with positive vibes from the service to the view and the accommodations are uniquely designed for a cozy stay.  

Very attentive and friendly staff, spectacular views and great breakfast. Totally enjoyed our stay at El Sol enjoying long breakfasts, with beautiful views of the Mediterranean Sea and Venetian Castle, followed by total relaxation by the pool. El Sol is close to both Kapsali beach with its numerous restaurants and night life, as well as the the boutique shops of the Hora old town.  This was the second time we have stayed at the El Sol, and we will definitely be staying there again.

This was our first stay at El Sol. We were there for 4 nights in mid August and thoroughly enjoyed the place. 

This hotel is set high above the beachside village of Kapsali. It has spectacular views. From picturesque water and mountain views by day to magically lit castle views by night. Moonlit nights are perfect as you look across the sea and the moonlight reflects off the calm waters below. 

The rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. The rest of the hotel is superb. The sparkling pool is sensational against the white backdrop of the hotel rooms which adds to the serenity. 

The staff are amazing, friendly and absolutely welcoming. You can tell that they take pride in their work and service to the guests. 

Breakfast is very good with plenty of choices. 

You will need a car to get there as it’s a bit of a walk up a semi-steep hill. If you don’t mind a bit of exercise it takes about 20 minutes to walk up to the hotel from Kapsali.



We returned after some years and we have found the same high level quality hotel. The owner and the staff are always ready to satisfy little needs with discretion 
Breakfast is rich and fresh, it is server near the pool, with a wonderfull landscape. The pool is not so big, always available during day and staff offre fresh water for free or some light food not so expensive whenever you want. 
Rooms are large and clean and the view is breathtaking. Beds large with fresh and clean linen.
There is a gymn that looks very well furnished, but we didn’t use so i can’t give a complete judgement
Definitely the place where i want to stay in Kythira. 
It’s a 3 stars hotel that looks as a 4 star.

A lovely place to stay again and again and ...

Nice hotel, great people, beautiful island.

Fantastic location if you are thinking of that idealic Greek Island experience, with a relaxed and pampered ambience.

Idyllic

Again, as at home 

We were are the hotel for a family wedding that was held at the hotel. The staff were so accommodating and the hotel itself is all you need.  The views from the hotel are breathtaking and almost don't look real! The castle is definitely worth a trip and I would recommend a trip to the shops on the streets up to the castle for some beautiful gifts for the family. Well worth a visit and highly recommend hotel and island.

Stunning location, lovely hotel, friendly staff

We stayed in this hotel for a family wedding and it was amazing. The views from the room and pool are stunning. The staff couldn't be more helpful and welcoming. Vanessa arranged the bedrooms for us so we would be beside each other and fit all of us in at a very reasonable price. The food was delicious and so were the cocktails. The hotel is a 30min drive from the airport or €30 in a taxi. We hired a car because we wanted to explore the island and it was handy to have so we could easily get down to Kapsali beach which was lovely. All the restaurants are quite cheap and the food is good. It is a welcome treat to find a place so quiet and without tourists but so beautiful and worth visiting at the same time. We had a brilliant holiday and we will definitely be back!

Paradise

This is their slogan.  It's on the back of the shirts, and it is so true.  We are here now and still have 2 more nights.  It's the beginning of the season, and we just happened here because the place we had originally booked was not as advertised.  We are the only guests because it's so early - but the weather is perfect.  The pool is sparkling.  Breakfast is amazing!!!  They are totally pampering and spoiling us.  There really is nothing they haven't thought of or won't do, if we ask a question.  "May we buy a bottle of that wine so we can put it in our fridge and have it when we get hack to the room later today?"  The bottle was in the fridge, but there was also a corkscrew and 2 wine glasses and another treat to go with it.  We are pinching ourselves - it's paradise.  We'd like to return every year at this time - and next time stay for a week or two or three....

The definition of hospitality.

Absolutely beautiful hotel on the hillside overlooking Kapsali and Chora. One of our favorite spots after a week on Kythira. Lovely island architecture with nice rooms and a terrific pool, patio, and breakfast room. Stunning views both day (Kapsali beach and egg island) and night (when the Chora castle is illuminated). Room was basic, but comfortable, complete, and clean. Also nice balcony to take advantage of the views. Family run hotel with terrific pride of ownership and resulting outstanding service. Perfect base to explore the hidden wonders of beautuful southern Kythira. Not walking distance to restaurants, but the view is worth the compromise, and it is a very short drive to Kapsaili.

Excellent and friendly hotel

We stayed at Hotel El Sol with the whole family for a night on Kythira (2 adults and 2 children). We had to make a last minute reservation due to a fire on the island and we were welcome in the best possible way, turning around a tense situation into a nice adventure. The Hotel enjoys probably the best position on the island, above the Kapsali bay with a privileged view of the old Chora (the castle overlooking the bay). The structure fits perfectly in the landscape and is properly maintained. The hotel revolvs around a fantastic pool with salted water, complete with a restaurant that will prepare everything you need. But the real highlight is the service and the people that will welcome you at El Sol, ready to take care of you with a smile and the warmest greek hospitality. Highly recommended to set base on the island and enjoy Kythira, one of the best kept secret of Greece.
