Kythereia Hotel

I am just back from a wedding in Agia Pelagia and I had a really pleasant stay in the Kythereia Hotel. The room I stayed in, although small, had a fantastic view of the harbour, it was freshly painted and was cleaned every day. It had free Air Conditioning, a TV, a fridge and a small bathroom (shower and toilet) and very good value for money. The Hotel was well maintained and you could tell the owners took great pride in their property. Angelo and his mother were so friendly and helpful, stopping whatever they were doing for chat every day, it just made the experience so much better. The Hotel is located in the centre of the small town and less than two minutes walk to everything, i.e. church, beautiful sandy beaches, restaurants, cafes, a small supermarket etc. I was showing my colleagues in work some of the photographs I had taken and all they kept saying was that it reminded them of the movie Mama Mia. In retrospect, I would have to agree with them, because staying at the Kythereia Hotel and in the town of Agia Pelagia (the people are just so friendly) was like stepping back in time to Greece in the 1990’s. The Airport is about 25 minutes drive and costs €25 in a Taxi, Angelo arranged the Taxi back to the Airport for me and there are usually Taxi’s at the airport, I had no problem getting one when I arrived.
