I stayed in room 11 that had a beautiful view of Kapsali Bay and a  spectacular view of the Castle and sunset! Every morning, I stepped out of the room and dived into the sea. The room was very clean and with hot water  in the shower ! The was a small refrigerator in the room . The aircondition was in perfect operation. DIMITRIS, the manager, was very helpful from the moment I sent him the booking email till the day I left. In the area , there  are very good restaurants and tavernas and cafes and mini markets .it is a very peaceful place. You can get in Captain Spiros boat and go in 10 min to Hytra or Avgo Island where there is the biggest sea cave in Europe. There you will be given a mask to dive and explore the magnificent underwater world. The tour lasts 2 hours! Coming to Kithira and driving around the island was an experience of all my senses!!

Had a great week here May-June 2016.  Dimitrios is a very friendly, capable host who is usually to be found in the cafe downstairs if you need anything.  The apartments are very central in Kapsali, close to everything including the boats, beach, lighthouse, restaurants, and the main road.  Despite its central location, the room was private and relatively quiet most of the time.  The area in front of Cengo, which includes the Lemoni cafe (which is terrific) is a popular spot for all ages especially in the afternoons.  We stayed in 14 which has a nice balcony with beach and castle views.  Room was cleaned every day.  Wifi was good and reliable.  Room has a fridge but no cooking equipment, stove, kettle etc. so you tend to eat out, which is fine because there are lots of options.  Nice big bathroom.  The Lemoni downstairs is good for breakfast, also tends to be where you organise boat trips, car hire etc. because they all drop in for coffee.  It's possible to walk up to Hora (Kythera town) and generally there are plenty of walking tracks, but we had a car for the week and did not end up using it much.  Everything is basically right in front of you - next time we might only hire for a day or two instead of a week.  Car hire is two doors down from Cengo and also at the airport.  He also does bikes, scooters and watercraft.  Mini-mart just behind the building on the main road is handy, parking was close by but may be a problem in the peak season.  Allow a good hour on those roads to get to/ from the airport at worst.
Bring binoculars, snorkel & mask, mosquito repellent.  Overall, this is one of the best places we have yet stayed in the Greek Islands, and we will definitely be back.  Kythera is awesome!

This hotel Is at the  far end of the beach over a cafe which serves breakfast.  Good size room and bathroom excellent value for money.  A few stairs to go up to the first floor and reception is around the corner

The hotel is in Kapsali. It is renovated and in good condition. We stayed in room no. 14 with balcony, southwest sea view and nice view to castle of Chora. The room is relatively large, bath is small but sufficient. Both were clean and furniture is in good condition. No breakfast was served but could be found in restaurant next to hotel.

The location is perfect as it is just 20m from the beach/restaurants/bars.

The owner and the cleaning lady are very polite and helpful.

Changing the bed sheet only after a 3-nights' stay is quite a big no-no!

Noisy a/c which keep you up most of the night.

No breakfast included but there are quite a few coffee shops and even a couple of small supermarkets around to make up for that.

The "big" room has a view on the Mikros Gialos....and the parking lot/back-side of the "Magos" taverna (yes! the part that's not shown on the pictures above).

Parking is generally fine but it can get a bit messy at night when most visitors parc in front of the hotel.
