Sunrise Hotel

We've just left after 4 nights staying at the Sunrise Hotel as part of an island hopping trip around the Cyclades. We booked based on reviews and value for money, just wanting a base for exploring the island. The hotel does have quite a 'young' feel with lots of people travelling etc staying there. We didn't feel out of place though although it's probably not somewhere you'd aim to stay as a family or older couple. The hotel was ideal for what we wanted, we had a spacious double room (304) which had a massive balcony with an amazing view of the town and as far as the sea. The bathroom was what you expect in Greece but was clean and the shower was hot. The room was cleaned daily with fresh towels which was great. There was also a large fridge to stock up with water and wine 👌🏼 and the air conditioning was very good! We used the hotel pool a few times which also has amazing views of the town. It seems to be quiet so you can always get a sunbed and it's also clean and tidy. We had a few drinks from the hotel and had lunch once which was nice. The hotel also provides a free transfer from the port which was brilliant and saved us getting the bus. Buses are very easy to use in Ios though and seem to be the best way of getting about. Getting to the town centre from the hotel does mean navigating quite a steep slope (not a problem for us but might be if you're less mobile). It's only a 10min walk (if that) but sound from the bars/clubs doesn't seem to carry which is good at night. Excellent location for bus stop (5 mins) which takes you to the port or Myloplotas every 15mins (€1.60) and a 10min walk to the centre of the town! Would definitely recommend.
