Markella

Markella studios is a must for us next time in Zakynthos. The rooms has the basics and are clean and nice. Zoe is so friendly and helpful. We felt very welcome. Athena who also work here makes the best Tzatziki in greece. Love her too. There is a man working in the bar and he makes the best Strawberry daiquiri. Now the rest is up to us to have a great holiday.

We went sept 2019 just what we wanted small hotel  very friendly and no pressure to pay until you leave.Zoe was lovely we hope to return once travel conditions relax..This is a real Greek hotel self run by the hosts .. very polite .. better than your larger main hotels .  . 100% from us

thanks to zoe and her team we have just had the best two week holiday I Greece at the markella studios, we stayed in a maisonette which was probably the best accommodation that we have ever stayed in, the swimming pool was great as was the lady at the bar and also the cleaning of our room was excellent, Zoe organised some trips for us as well, in all the staff were very helpful and friendly, Zoe we will be back, regards

Great place to stay run by a lovely family. Clean accommodation, well serviced and close to the beach, restaurants and shops. Pool area lovely with sun lounges and decent size pool for swimming. Recommend this place definitely. 

We spent 5 nice days in this place. The owner she has been really very kind with us. The place is clean and spacious. Swimming pool amazing. The beach 3 minutes walking with nice restaurants and supermarket, a good strategic place.
The breakfast was good and all of the team very willing to satisfy us.
The only point is we asked lamps for the bed for reading and we did not get.

10 day break at Markella studios. Apartments are clean and well maintained. Beautiful pool, great food and lovely staff. The complex is spotless and the owners are justifiably proud of the studios.

Our toilet broke and they had a plumber in and parts sorted within a few hours. 

Can't fault anything at all - a genuine and well deserved 5 stars.

We have just finished a two week break at the Markella Studios in Keri Greece. From the flight and flight times being great to the location and facilities being perfect it’s been a great relaxing break for the whole family. 

The resort is quiet with maybe a dozen restaurants all within a 10 min walk which was flat and even for our parents and small children. The food everywhere has been excellent including the bar and restaurant at the Markella, our host Zoe and Dimitri have been fantastic and looked after all of us very well, nothing has been too much trouble. Highly recommend the Zoe Salad and the Special pizza. The rooms and split level apartments are extremely clean and freshly decorated, we would recommend paying the little extra for the split level apartments which a really like a small villa. The pool is immaculate and large and deep perfect for swimming and diving into and there is also a small child paddling pool. 

The hotel is about 19 Rooms in total the bar and pool are never busy and always plenty of clean new beds to relax on. 

We were almost the only people with little kids as well as grand parents and nobody minded the splashing around as plenty of room for everybody. 

The resort it’s self is small and lacks a chemist which is only about a 10min drive away but there are seven choices of local supermarkets. All the staff and locals have been very friendly and helpful and we would recommend going to Keri Village about a 10min drive to see a great sunset. 

For a relaxing break with No Neon lights and loud music it’s perfect to unwind relax and enjoy great food and drink. 

Loud music and neon is available about a 15min taxi ride away in Laganas if you fancy a lively night out. 

Visited here to use the swimming pool and was not disappointed. The staff are very welcoming and chatty and inform you that you can use there facilities. We had our lunch here and drinks throughout the day to keep hydrated also a thankyou to the staff for using there free facilities all day. The swimming pool is very clean with sunbeds surrounding the pool/grass areas and toilet/ shower facilities also.

10 days at the beginning of September. Lovely setting rooms very clean great pool and bar reasonably priced snacks served all day 10 minutes walk to the beach and tavernas  very relaxed vibe to the resort, #wonderful

markella studios, brilliant holiday

Myself and two friends stayed for 4 nights at Markella Studios in the middle of August and it was lovely! 

We especially enjoyed the outside pool area, bar and the little village you could walk to.

As 3 young adults who like to relax it was lovely to stay in a place that was quiet and beautiful but then visit the vibrant Laganas at night! Zoe and her family/friends were so attentive during our stay. Booking our taxis for us really helped.

We booked a boat trip through Zoe which was probably the best part of our holiday so we can’t thank her enough for how she made us feel and how personal she was with us about making sure we had a lovely stay.

The rooms are basic but just what we needed.

A great price, a great experience and a great holiday! Certainly would return if lucky enough to go back to Zakynthos!

Highly reccomended - clean, tidy and friendly

We have just returned from a week at The Markella studios on B&B basis.
Our room was on the top floor facing the main road, it was clean comfortable and fairly quiet being as it was on the road!
The only issue we had was the shower, one minute the water was cold, the next hot and every now and then it would stop altogether, we laughed it off as we always managed to shower, just sometimes quicker than others!!😂
The air con is 4 euros a night and worth every bit of it, the first night we never had it and it was just too hot even with the shutters/doors open.
Breakfast is good, egg either in an omelette, boiled or fried, with toast, croissants, juice, yogurt and honey and coffee.
The bar is fairly reasonable and there are snacks all day until late at good prices too, the pizzas are lovely!
There is no shortage of sun beds in fact some days it was just us by the pool until the afternoon, very relaxed area, clean and a good pool.
Only down side, the bar area could of done with some back ground music or light entertainment of an evening as it was a bit quiet!
The beach/harbour is about a 10 min stroll, you can go down the main road or out the back gate (right)and follow it down to the beach, the back way is quieter, no traffic and more to see.
There are a fair few supermarkets, and restaurants/tavernas to eat at down the beach area, and no loud music!
The beach has sand and pebble areas, and it is shallow for quite away out, lovely and clear and it appeared to be safe.
A boat trip to see the turtles and Keri caves is a good 3 hours out and worth it, we saw one turtle, but a good time was had!!
All in all a lovely relaxing place, but a small resort, I will definitely be going back but will be hiring a car to explore the island.
