Blue Star

We have spent 10 days with my wife and a couple of our friends in annex part of the Blue Star hotel and it was a lovely stay. The rooms were reasonably sized with perfectly working air-conditioning and a ratehr small, but nice and clean bathroom. We've loved the food on our all-inclusive programme. Cuisine was rather simple, but it was local, perfectly prepred, tasty, fresh and we have never gotten tired with the broad selection. Drinks and beer were local, but tasty enough and we've never had to queue for long, although we have been there in high season. Hotel beach was very clean, without any unpleasant smell or anything similar, pure joy and relaxation. We have never struggled to get seabeds and parasols, even if we woke up usually late. Two sets of beach showers were just enoug, too. Directly next to the beach, there is a neat beach bar with very friendly bartenders, look especially for Dimitris, he will make your day. Due to proximity of the beach, we have tried pools just once, but they are large enough, clean and fun. We have received 15 minutes massage for free, which was nice, but the Spa staff is so pushing for paid extension, that it was uncomfortable (but that's just so you know, because it's even run by other company than the hotel itself). In the evening, we loved to stay in the hotel, having drinks and playing cards or just chatting. We took a walk to Faliraki centre, which is fun, but very tourist-orientd and fake. Taking taxi or bus to the authentic city of Rhodos i much better! Also, renting a car and discovering the amazing island is highly recommendable. There are tons of sithseeing spots. Renting scooter is not recommended, as you could hit a goat somewhere, and the traffic is a bit crazy all over the island. Regarding the hotel's annex part - the hotel consists of 4* main complex and a 3* annex part across one street direction inland. However, the rooms are basically the same, Annex part has it's own pool and is much more quiet, because it's smaller and far from the night's annimation programme happening directly underneath the hotel's main complex. Even walking from the Annex part to the beach or hotel restaurants/bars might be surprisingly quicker, than from many parts of the main complex, as there are many long corridors, elevators and staircases in the main part, while the annex part is rather small. There are also some bungalows at the annex part, there are a few meters further, but even more quiet.
