Costmari

We put this holiday together ourselves. Booked Gatwick to Heraklion, in September, cheap flights. Looking at £750 for 4. Then booked via Autoclub a car for the full 10days. Cheaper than taxi transfers and gives you a car. The trip in/out paid for the car. Hotel Mari had good comms, kept us up to date. Arrived 3am. Welcome basket and bottled water on arrival. Clean. Loads of space. Fridge good. Two hobs good, Shower, water pressure and loads of hot water all good. Beds good. Furniture good. Windows and doors had sun screens, fly mesh and Double glazing. AC quiet and good. Location, the best, very few closer apartments. Close to beach and village centre. Parking OK, other spaces nearby if stuck, no biggie. Feet washing and a hose available for bigger items. Towels and sheets and room cleaned Tues, Thursday and Saturdays. All good. Not noisy. Private garden accessed via gate up road. 4 seats one table and 4 sun loungers there. Room had mop and brush and bowl. Plus clothes dryer. No plug. Just use the bottom of the honey tub once used. The place is a jem. Room 13 has sea view. New builds block the lower floors sea view. However no need sea view, 1/you cannot use it peak season as its too hot, 2/sea view from the beach(Euro 5 for two loungers at caravan cafe end). Best go for mountain view. Can sit out at night, and you can use it. Any place with a sea view will mean you will cook, so avoid - we made a good call. Cannot fault this place. Used by Greeks = says it all. Book early!! Then find flights :)
