Very good
2 reviewsAccess Inn is the perfect budget place to stay for a short visit. We stayed here for two consecutive nights and wish we had stayed here again when we were in Accra again a few days later. What makes the difference is the great staff. Comfort is a gem and rings true to her name: she always has a smile and helped negotiate taxis for us as well as offered to call taxis. A solid breakfast - there are several options- is included in the price. We got the omelettes and they are served with four toasted white bread points with juice and coffee and jam and a small plate of cabbage/bean stew. You can sit on the nice balcony and hear the sounds of Accra in the AM. There is airport pickup available, which we opted for as we arrived at night. It's only about a 15-20 minute ride to the airport from the inn. The rooms are adequate for travelers like ourselves out most of the day. There is not much space but enough for the duffel bag and suitcase we had. It's very tidy and the bed mattress is a little thin but we slept fine. The AC is powerful which is AMAZING after being outside in the hot, humid weather all day. That being said, it;s directly above the bed so blows directly on you. Just cover up a bit at night. The location is very close to Oxford Street- a 5-minute or less taxi ride aka 5/6 cedis. I wouldn't walk there at night but it would be fine during the day. It's a 20 minute walk keeping in mind dirt streets. There were scant other people staying when we were there which was great. While there are communal toilets/showers, they are immaculate. The water pressure is mediocre but that's to be expected in Ghana. But there is hot water!! Also the wifi is strong which was amazing. Another shout-out to the manager Barbara who let us take a quick shower here for 20 cedis before we boarded our overnight plane back to Heathrow. Negatives: The pillows suck unfortunately. I would ask for another as they are too thin. It's unfortunate a walk to Oxford Street at night doesn't appear too safe but that's not Access Inn's fault. Finally, as another person commented there is a weird sort of window at the top of the room that connects to the next room so everything you're saying or doing can be heard. Also, coming back here at night, NO taxi driver knew where this place was so it would be wise if the hotel provided better directions on their Booking.com page.
