We stayed in Bergstuberl for 12 days on July 22 - Aug 3. We had a 2 bed accommodation; recently renovated, roomy and nicely decorated in Bavarian traditional style. Mountains are at a door step; nearest lakes in a few minutes drive. Chimsee lake was exceptionally warm (my guess is around 30 C, thanks for a hot weather) and drive took about 30 minutes. The owners are lovely and helpful. It's a nice choice of attractions around. I strongly recommend visiting biggest in Europe Krimml waterfalls, Eagle's nest with its truly breathtaking views, beautiful Salzburg and Kitzsteinhorn 3029m peak where you can enjoy snow rides even in July. For kinds look for Triassic park; also there is a nice Wondrous Water World near Krimml waterfalls.
