Jugendherberge Kreuth-Scharling - Hostel

Our family of 4 decided to try our first „family“ hostel & we were glad we did. They offered breakfast & dinner buffet, and dinner had a cool theme each night for kids. They had a cozy common area room, where we played board games & cards together (the hostel had 2 cabinets full of them), and a kids party room with ping pong and pool table. The sauna was 4 Euros, but I recommend putting more 1 Euro coins in, if you are the first to go-in. Outside has a playground, picnic tables, ping pong table, and a Mountain View. Everyone over a certain age receives a Tegernsee „Guest“ card, not a Tegernsee card, so some places offer partner prices, because of the „Kurtaxe,“ paid with your stays, at Tegernsee.; example, „bus rides“ may be free. The parking is limited, but we always had a spot. A cheese factory is also close-by, and the family hostel had a small common area refrigerator, where we kept the cheese cool. Rooms are cute, and can sleep up to 6, came with a small round table and chairs, and had 6 wall lockers; at the end of hallways had huge tables and benches, for larger families to enjoy a view, etc. We recommend this family hostel to a family’s visit to Tegernsee, to Wallberg with panorama view, to nearby waterfalls, or to explore.
