Lovely little hotel/guest house tucked away near the woods and a beautiful big lake. The host is friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful - he recommended several walking trails to us, and places to see. The hotel is quite far from any established towns, and I'd recommend hiring a car and driving there (we took a bus and a taxi, which was affordable but not very convenient). Perfect for peace and quiet, gorgeous outdoors, easy walks and true Northern German charm. There is a restaurant on site, and the hotel serves breakfast every morning. The nearest town is Buntenbock (tiny town!), and then Clausthal-Zellerfeld. We had a wonderful, romantic long weekend here, and I'd return in a heartbeat. :-)
