I came late to Germany from Austria and needed a place to stay. A nightwatchman at a fully booked hotel called Gaesthaus Margarete at 10 pm and they had one room. I was there at 11 pm and the owner waited up for me. He showed me to the nicest looking room I've ever seen in a guesthouse. It had a private bath and a sitting area, and the decor was beautiful. I felt like I was in a four star hotel, not a small guesthouse in the Alps. The breakfast buffet was also very nice, taking place in a very cozy and relaxed room on the second floor. The food was good, and the service excellent (again the owner, he couldn't have slept much that night). All this for 70 euros. Unfortunately my stay was only for a short time, but I'm already planning a vacation to take me back to Gaesthaus Margarete. Absolutely love the place!
