I can say without a doubt that it is one of the best guest houses in Kutaisi. The hosts are really hospitable. They help us in anything we need. The breakfast is super. Well located and great room quality/price. Good prices in trips and airport pick up service.

Returned again to the Sisi Guest House and once again, Mari and Gio made me feel so welcome again. The service still of a very high standard with an excellent breakfast at a time of your choice.  With guests from Russia, Bulgaria and Georgia during my stay, it certainly made the evenings interesting in having a conversation!! 

Already planning next visit to see winter snow in Georgia - room already booked at the Sisi to guarantee a place for January!!

The Sisi Guest House, run by Mari and Gio has only been open a year and I was met at Kutaisi Airport at 0500 by Gio for the 25 minute transfer to the guest house - now that's service!!
.
With only 4 rooms, all clean and comfortable, a communal lounge/kitchen area (with A/C) which has all facilities you'd find in a self catering apartment (incl WiFi) was ideal and with only 4 rooms, I rarely met other guests and treated the whole "Sisi experience" as if I was "at home"!
.
Good location - only 5" walk to Kutaisi 1 railway station and bus no.1 departing every few minutes (until 6pm) from the station front to the city centre (5 stops).
Note - in Georgia just get on in middle or rear doors, sit down, move forward as journey progresses so that you are near the front door ready to get off! In Kutaisi the fare is half lari (approx 12p) which you give to the driver on alighting!

The number 1 bus operates anti clockwise round Kutaisi to McDonald's and the Bus Station (further 10"), then back to station in further 5".
.
In the centre there is a very informative Tourist Office with maps and advice not only about Kutaisi but all Georgia.
.
Recommend the 'Barcia Pub' in the centre -  menus in English, great food and service and Kostya (one of the barmen/waiters) even spoke excellent English along with Onik who looked after the music!!
.
A visit to the market is a must! Just 2" from the Barca - seemingly unchanged since Soviet market days!
.
Don't be put off with the Georgian language - if you thought Cyrillic was difficult, wait until you try Georgian!!
A great experience and part of the fun and if you need help, just ask a young person, most have learnt English at school!
.
To get back to the Sisi best to use a taxi (especially as last 300 metres is uphill!).
Make sure you have Sisi address written down in Georgian as most taxi drivers are 'elderly' and don't speak (or read!) English!
In 5 days never met one who spoke English but I had no problems - negotiate price beforehand - max 4/5 lari in centre (and that's generous!!) for the 5" trip to the Sisi.

Kutaisi and the "Sisi" a great place to begin a first visit to Georgia! 
.
If you are going on to Tbilisi, the daily 1215 service (its only 1 ex Soviet era coach) and is another experience! Must book in advance (8 lari - £2.50!!) includes reserved seat! 5 hour trip (220km) but plenty of room to move around once train leaves as few people use service. Great way to glimpse the 'real' Georgia rather than spend 3 hrs on cramped minibus!

Good recommend in Tbilisi is Hotel Central by Mgzavrebi which is located actually above station (very convenient) and less than 1 minute from platform to reception!! 
.
Bare in mind, Georgia is "new" at the tourism game!  But that's part of the fun - relatively unspoilt by tourists but one of the most hospitable countries I've visited!
.
With an increase in Wizzair flights to Kutaisi from next month even though a change of planes necessary at either Budapest, Katowice, Warsaw or Sofia if travelling from UK, even an overnight visit at one of these cities makes a nice break as you "head east", Georgia definitely somewhere different to experience and at very affordable prices!!
.
Note - I can leave Kutaisi at 0600 and be sitting in my living room in Doncaster by 1700 - almost 5000 km for £40 if you pick your dates!!!
.
Enjoyed it so much, going back to Georgia and the Sisi in September!!
