Confortable and typical accommodation, qualified and very kind staff.
Excellent cuisine, wonderful garden with swimming pool.
Brufut beach,  tanji reserve  and Tanji fish market nearby.

An excellent local lodge a 5 min walk away from an amazing unspoilt beach. All staff so attentive and work very hard to ensure you have a good time. Rooms are big enough and get cleaned every day and food is excellent and very reasonably priced. Highly recommend to anyone that wants to enjoy Gambia but away from the large hotels and tourist areas.

We spent 5 days here and were impressed  by the level of comfort and relaxation. We stayed in the Roundhouse which is just a few steps from the lovely pool.
The room had a very large and comfortable bed and was nice and cool, we didn't turn the fan on despite the 33 degree heat. The staff were very attentive and the food and drink was reasonably priced.
Quiet location but just a 15 minute walk to the lovely beach and bars.

We booked mango lodge to get away from hustle and bustle of a big resort. We were not disappointed, relaxed friendly attentive staff. Sano and his team could not have been more helpful, and accommodating.
We had the rounhouse room, which was spacious, very clean and everything we needed.
Food was excellent and you only had to ask and chef would see what he coulod do. We sourced some Baobob and he made smoothies for breakfast for us. Then he got us more as were tasty.
This is a small hotel in a friendly and real village where people are prediminately unaffected by tourists. There are times when water pressure drops and there are electricity outages, this is a developing country, so you roll with it.

The genuine warmyth and openess of staff and locals beats any number of stars you might have above the door.

great place with good service and at a reasonable price very close to the main attraction with cheap transport. no problem with electricity as they have a generator. cleaning is to a high standard and staff very helpful and flexible in their approach.

Mango Lodge is situated in "Real Gambia" away from the hustle and bustle of Senagambia or Serakunda. The beach is just a short walk away and we were lucky enough to see the catch of the day being brought in. The Lodge itself is quiet and comfortable with a beautiful poolside area and dining space. The food is fantastic and Ebrima will cook anything you want, all you have to do is ask. I don't do well with spice and chillies so he made me local dishes without the heat, which I must say were superb. Sarjo and his staff simply can't do enough for you, welcoming you as part of the family from the off. I felt safe, secure and very pampered for my whole stay. I will definitely be returning to enjoy the fantastic hospitality of Mango Lodge.

Just got back last Friday from a short week at the Mango Lodge and feel completely refreshed. During my stay I met some really lovely people that attended to all my needs. The rooms are clean and spacious, although a bit empty. Don't expect a fancy seat-in or airconditioning like perhaps in big resorts, but it met all my needs and exceeded expectations. The bed is super comfortable, just make sure you bring an extra blanket as the nights in winter, might turn unexpectedly chilly.
The bath room is very clean, however don't expect a super shower. Little warm and little water. But when the weather is so lovely and the pool is nice and clean, this is a minor comfort.
Happy to recommend this place to everyone who wants a real picture of The Gambia, away from your middle of the road tourists' resorts.

Would give no stars if thay were possible. Basically this is a shed in someones back garden. We arrived to find it was freezing cold. There was a heater but it did not heat the room. The bathroom and bed were so chilly. We also discovered the train station backs onto the garden. Despite this being a birthday gift we left straight away. When we asked for a refund Gary was adamant that there was not a problem and invited our review. From reading the reviews on booking.com they appear a little suspect. Stay well away. It would also appear that our review on booking.com was blocked.
