Long weekend in Northern France? Vieil Hesdin birthplace of Blondin the tightrope walker is less than hour from the eurostar terminal. "Sophies Grange" Barn conversion, has three ensuit double rooms and a mezzanine lounge area. Beautifully converted very comfortable and includes the very best of continental breakfast with many freshly baked goodies by Sophie, Corn bread, homemade yoghurt, local honey, crepes and the eggs are from Sophie hens. The northern coast is easily in range and if you visit Montreuil (historic scenic) you must eat at "Froggy's" (really) Brasserie.

La Grange de Sophie, a converted barn, must be the best spot to stay in the area. Sophie & her husband are absolutely charming hosts and bend of backwards to make your stay perfect. The barn, converted 4 years ago, is beautifully decorated with so much attention to detail. You cannot be anything other than comfortable and happy here.
There is mezzanine sitting room for guests and breakfast is served in the barn's kitchen at a long table with plenty of lively conversation and a good breakfast. We will definitely return here.

We stayed during a week-end in August. The grange is beautifully decorated and restored. It gives a warm welcoming feel like home, just like its hosts. Sophie made a superbe homemade breakfast which gave an excellent start of the day. The evening of our arrival she was so kind to recommend and reserve a good French style restaurant in Hesdin. Her adorable dogs and the choice of rooms, which were each unique in decor, added to the lovely atmosphere. We are certainly planning on returning when we visit the region.

Stayed for probably the third or fourth time  with friends - wonderful stay. Sophie and Christophe are so welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. Fantastic breakfasts with homemade cakes!  Looking forward already to our next visit - thanks Sophie and Christophe for everything.

Other reviewers are right that Sophie is a wonderful host. Nothing is too much trouble - she was very helpful identifying and booking restaurants for us and breakfast was excellent and plentiful. The home made jams in particular were really good.

The accommodation is in a building exclusively for guests - I think they have 3 rooms in total with a shared kitchen and small seating area. The bedroom is very well maintained and clean and the accommodation is very quiet. 

The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is really down to personal taste than anything wrong - the décor was probably just a little too pretty for me and the bed just a little too hard - I'm certain many other guests would disagree with me and my mother would have loved it. Anyway, I really wouldn't allow any of that to prevent me from staying there again if I was in the area. This is a good B&B at a reasonable price with an excellent host.

Another fabulous stay

A very decorated house with on every inch a wooden heart or chicken. The reception was cold and demanding. 
Beds were comfortable. Not ideally situated, perhaps if you travel through Calais.
Will do for one night.

A doll house

The rooms were ok, not to our taste, too romantic with a lot of harts. The hostess
was very intrusive, very dominant.  We only stayed for the weekend, The location is on her property, be prepared for a lot of noise.
