Before we arrived here I read a lot of the reviews if this site. I was prepared to find things to complain about and i was bracing myself for a confrontation with someone regarding the condition/state/position of our caravan/chalet. 

So it was to my unexpected surprise that I could find no evidence of anything I had read in a lot of the reviews. I tried hard and made a point of trying to find something to complain about but hand on heart I really couldn't find anything at all. Everything that should be there was there, everything works perfectly as far as I can tell. There was no dust,dirt or untidiness at all. We have loads of room for our car on our pitch too. This is only a very early review as we only arrived this afternoon but on first impressions I honestly can't fault it. 

This was a lovely campsite. Quite quiet.
Very clean.
Food at restaurant was excellent and the staff were lovely. 
The accommodation was clean and spacious, however, did not have a kettle.
Near to Chinon a pleasant town. Also, near to a big supermarket.

We had a lovely family holiday here. Check in was hassle free and earlier than we expected. No one around between 12 and 3 though. We were not expected to do the inventory check unless we wanted to. We did pay €200 deposit which we have yet to receive back (2 weeks).
We were a party of 13 in four units. Initially we were quite spread apart despite requesting to be together. We were moved to a better location on the second day with no fuss. I recommend asking to be in the older part of the site. The newer part is fine but just a bit further away from the amenities and less green.
The pool is cold! But lovely. A shame it didn’t open till 11am. This seems a bit unreasonable, especially considering it is not lifeguarded anyway. There is virtually no shade at all. Umbrellas are badly needed. Our men wore short style swim wear with no problems, might be different in high season. The pool and restaurant is not very wheelchair accessible. There is a ramp but this leads to the back of the restaurant and very rough ground where the staff park. Strange. The pool is accessed via a gate to a foot wash area. There is another gate, maybe that is for wheelchairs. The public loos are pretty grim. Urinals for men and a couple of cubicles near the restaurant for woman. No loo seats and pretty pongy even in May.

Lovely spot very nice site

Quiet campsite

Caravan is no frills functional, 2 bedroom is ok for a family of 4 although next time we go to France we will get 3 bedrooms.
The caravan had no curtains at most of the windows so we had to pin up sheets and towels at the windows for privacy.
The shower was distinctly bipolar and was either boiling hot or freezing cold, you got used to it. 
The air conditioning did not work, we paid extra for it and although they came out to look at it it still didn’t work great in 40 degree heat!
Take a kettle! The oven and hob were great (gas) and the fridge freezer had more than enough room. There was a coffee machine, plenty crickets cutlery and pans. Take tea towels!

We loved the outdoor space and spent allot of time outside, take citronella candles and mosquito spray as they are everywhere! We all got bitten to bits! 

We enjoyed learning boules as our caravan was right next to the pétanque court.

The pool area and the pool itself was very dirty flies all over the surface and scum round the sides of the pool, by the afternoon it stank of urine, it was very very busy by late afternoon. Men need to wear speedo type shorts or trunks the lifeguards stop people and make them get out of the pool.
The slides are great!!! The sunbeds are comfy and there’s enough parasols!

The entertainment was obnoxious and loud the animation team would swarm the pool at 7pm just as your getting your last drop of sun! It went on till 11pm Monday-Friday very loudly. The animation team and entertainment was entirely in French.

We used the restaurant once on the first night but couldn’t get a table till 10pm we didn’t know we had to book in advance. The pizzas were amazing. Drinks and ice creams at the bar very expensive (captive market) and I never seen the shop open once in 2 weeks!

We used the super U in ille bouchard and the eleclerc in chinon although watch out for times they close early and Sunday only half day. 

We loved going into Tours it’s a beautiful city and only half an hour away. We also visited La Rochelle, Chinon and Saumur. 

We had a lovely relaxing holiday, our children are 11/13 so we took bikes and they would go off and explore they enjoyed the bike track. 

Check out was very confusing, there was no one at reception to check out with so we left our key, there was no information on check out. We paid extra for linen towels and and end of stay clean so goosing we get our €200 deposit back. 

Overall I don’t think we would go back to that site but we’re booking another site on the west coast for next year!

Relaxing no frills family break

Tent ok, missing utensils though , Parc quite nice, pool area tired and dirty. Scum line around the pool is horrific! Can be easily wiped off as I took my sponge and wiped some! Concrete area around the pool full of weeds and dirty! Gets very hot and they make you take your shoes off!!! Absolutely terrible!!! Staff are horrific so rude! No English speaking staff apart from one who had little vocabulary. Cocktails awful, shop tiny and awful.  Restaurant doesn’t open until 7pm! Way too late when you have children. Entertainment starts really late also. 9pm! Again too late with kids. All in all pretty crap! We are still here now trying to make the most of it but it could be so much better! Especially if the staff could even pretend to crack a smile!! Staff tonight on bar 28/7 are so damn rude! Need some lessons in customer service!!

Parc des Allais

Put in a poor mobile in probably the worst location on the site. Dismal and in earshot of the only refuse site. A great pity as the site was more or less empty. Canvas now eurocamp should have done better.
