I had to ask at a gas station several kilometers past the village and there a lady very kindly explained it to me.Is it so hard to put an indicator on the corner where to turn and there is the hotel?The entrance to the hotel alone was allowed from 17 to 19 hours which conditiones you all afternoon if you want to visit the beaches of the landing and more if you come from a place more than 100 km away as was my case.I don't understand how you allow the check-in time to be 2 hours.So don't give a good service.Nevertheless, the room, comfortable bed and views of a mini grass lawn.

There is no indication to arrive and there is only 2 hours to check in.

We really enjoyed our short family stay (2 adults, 2 children) in Normandy Omaha. This beautiful guest house is very well maintained and conveniently located near the landing beaches and other museums. The owners are very welcoming, the rooms are quiet and comfortable, the lunch is good and cozy.

That's a great address.

Nice and clean rooms. Quiet location, but no walking distance to restaurants or shops. You definitely need a car. Not easy to find. Be avare that check in time is after 4-5 Pm. Breakfast ok. Nice owner. But no WiFi during our stay.

I stayed three nights in July at this hotel. The owners are super friendly. The rooms are very clean. No noise at night. Quiet. Breakfast is very nice. Hotel recommended.

Our room (GOLD) was spacious with a large bathroom and a spacious breakfast with delicious house jams. The owner gave us useful advice on the possibilities of dining in Port-en-Bessin as well as on the must-see beaches at the landing. Go for it!

Ideal for visiting landing beaches

We had a nice stay, a lovely room and a warm comfy bath and bed. Owners are very friendly. They cannot speak English but they were helpful. They even allowed us to stay and work in the dining room after we checked out, as we had a few things to do before leaving around 15:00. Very sweet that they left us coffee and tea in the dining room while we worked and just asked us to leave the keys in a certain place before we leave. So trusting and accommodating.

Nice B&B!

On the last day of our family's trip to England, we took a ferry from Portsmouth to Caen so that we could see the beaches in Normandy. Our ferry was not to arrive in Caen until 9:30pm, so I specifically looked for hotels with a later checkin time. This hotel's information page on hotels.com said that checkin was from 5pm-11pm, which is why I chose it; I knew we'd be getting in late after the ferry. Our trip on the ferry was 6 hours, and my phone did not work on board. I called the hotel immediately once we arrived in Caen at 9:30pm to let them know we were on the way and would arrive in about an hour. The owner only spoke French. I can speak some French, so I was able to communicate. Once we arrived, the gate was closed, so I called again so he could open it for us. When we entered the hotel, he proceeded to yell loudly at us in front of our children for a good 5 minutes straight (in French), saying that the hotel closes at 7pm, and that he was very upset we were checking in so late. He mentioned having to leave the pub, which really irritated him. He said he had tried to call me multiple times. I told him that my phone had not worked on the ferry and that it said on the website that checkin was until 11pm. And I had called him an hour earlier to tell him we'd be on the way. I guess he spent that entire hour thinking of the best way to chew us out in front of our kids. The next morning, he acted as if nothing had happened...no apology. His behavior was completely unacceptable.

Awful Customer Service

Nice room, good bed, everything stays simple in the atmosphere of the landing, good breakfast, with the owner who does not hesitate to give you tips for visits really good stay calm

All right, calmly, with a really nice welcome.

While I cancelled my booking 15 days before I arrived, he left me an insulting message on my answering machine because I hadn't had the nerve to cancel it!!! It was up to me to prove my good faith (a simple search in the mail was enough to find my cancellation) and moreover he didn't even have the nerve to call me back to apologize for his mistake and the comments made about me...no consideration!

How to Avoid

When we arrived, we didn't find anyone to welcome us so we were a little distracted, I tried to call the numbers but they didn't answer, so I looked further up and was seen by the owner. My husband immediately recovered by chatting with us and giving us a brochure of the local restaurants. To get to the port we opted for a walk, but it turned out to be long and when we got back it was not light, take the car! 🙂
