Côté Lourmarin

My husband and I were so fortunate to find Cote Lourmarin and we agree that it is the most wonderful experience we have ever had at a B&B. We were visiting the region for the first time and selected Cote Lourmarin based on reviews that we now know, did not do it justice. From the time we arrived until the day we left, our hosts Christine and Pascal amazed us. First the home: It is a beautifully decorated home in the village of Lourmarin. A lovely, quiet town compared to the rest of the hill towns in the Luberon and perfect as a home base for visiting Provence. Christine has a gift for decor and ambience and this is truly noteworthy. There were always fresh flowers and lit candles. Our room was large and the bathroom was newly remodeled and pristine. Every room was special and picture perfect. Each day began with a delicious breakfast in the large French provincial kitchen and dining area. There was a fire in the fireplace, french press coffee, juices, 'fresh baked everything' from the local boulangerie, meats, cheeses and fruit, as well as a cooked specialty if we still had room. This was the time of day that Christine visited with us and inquired about our plans and whether we needed any help with ideas or directions. She made dinner reservations, plotted driving maps and shared her recommendations for special places to visit. She was the perfect host -- gracious, generous, always available when you needed her, but not ever-present. We felt welcome and like we also had privacy. Cote Lourmarin is a gem and anyone who is lucky enough to stay here will have taken the first best step to enjoying Provence.
