What a wonderful experience we had at Montboulan. Aude was so helpful and the rooms were clean, comfortable, and quiet. I loved waking up to the sounds of horses in the pasture each morning. Please visit and enjoy a relaxing stay at Montboulan!

Brilliant stop over from South of France to UK. We had such a lovely time on our way to UK we booked again for the return. The Small hotel, more of a B&B is an 19 th Century House in extensive grounds. It’s a family home built by the artist Leon Belly, with many art works and antiques around the house. We booked the same large bedroom both times, full of charm with a bath in the room, it’s a small walk to the separate toilet. The bed is large and comfortable. We had the evening meal on both occasions and Aude our charming lovely hostess is an excellent cook so would recommend. Breakfast is fruit, yoghurt, eggs and a selection of breads with very good coffee. 
We found the environment very relaxing and perfect for us. This Hotel is very dog friendly! We were all made very welcome.

The staying in the Hotes de Monteboulan was very pleasant and enjoyable for us. We liked the location very much, it's just amazing: a castle in the wood! The owner was very nice and polite, a very sweet and special woman. Dogs are welcome here. The breakfast and the dinner were delicious! We did not find any negative thing, all was perfect!

This amazing house is located at the end of a 3 kilometre drive along an unmade road in stunning surroundings. We received a warm welcome from our host and were shown to our room which was beautiful and very comfortable. Fitting ensuite shower rooms into a 150 year old property is a challenge, so the shower was rather bijou, but it was adequate. By contract our separate toilet was very spacious! We opted to eat in and had a lovely and plentiful meal in the pleasant company of four other guests. Breakfast was of a similar standard.

Three kilometres into the woods, a charming traditional French mini chateau run by the charismatic Audrey and her family.

Rooms lovingly renovated, very clean and tidy furnished with antiques.

If you want an en-suite ask at time of booking as I don’t think all rooms have them.

Good home cooked food at long tables with other guests.

Great stop off going south from Calais, but a bit difficult to find down good forest track
