Hôtel club Vacanciel Merlimont

After reading other reviews, we were rather concerned, however on arrival we picked our keys up to the villa (these were left on the reception door as it was closed). None of the instructions were in English however managed to find our way. We entered our villa and were pleasantly surprised. Although rather dated the accommodation and rooms were lovely and clear with a large shower and bathroom. The bed linen was lovely and clean, all being pressed. For three nights this was more than adequate. Negative points - It is not clear on arrival that you could not drive to your accommodation and that we had to collect a trolley (1 euro) to carry our luggage over to the villa. Also it is a 20 minute walk into the town and a 30 minute walk back in the heat. The town is really not worth a visit at it is very dirty with dog mess on all paths. All in all a pleasant stay, but considering they advertise they have a lot of English staying, more needs to be done to make us welcome, just a few more instructions in English would be a start. The lovely receptionist who does speak English is very helpful . Would I stay there again, no, but that is only because it is too far from town.
