40 reviewsI spent four nights at Les Jardins de Mozart and had a wonderful time as a solo traveller. I booked this apartment for its location and then read the reviews, which were quite negative. I cannot fathom those negative reviews, unless, of course people are very fussy and expecting five-star accommodation. The hotel is in a non-descript five to five storey building about 400 metres from the heart of town and about 500 to 600 m from the train and bus stations. Nothing could be more ideal. The hotel/apartment had efficient air-con, a compact little bathroom with adequate hot water and toiletries and towels. The little kitchenette came complete with two-burner cooktop, a microwave oven and fridge. There were also crockery and cutlery - most of which resembled what you'd find in a casual holiday house (or for we Aussies) perhaps a holiday caravan. Nothing flash - but completely adequate. There was also a cute little terrace off my apartment and as my stay was in the heart of summer, it was lovely to sit out in the terraced on a balmy night and sip on the wine I'd bought at the local (small) supermarket. As I say there the strains of my neighbours' cello came wafting over the fence that divided us; it was lovely. He poked his head over the fence and apolised for the noise. I assured him (he was no doubt one of the performers at the Aix festival) that it was "music to my ears", as it was. I no only had no complaints about my little apartment on the edge of time, but I'd recommend it and stay again - for its convenience, cleanliness and value for money. So you have to wash your dishes and take out your own garbage ...big deal! So you have to pick up your key from a little box to which you are given the code...big deal. I was sent two emails on the eve of my visit explaining how the door door and the box does worked -- and it all worked like clockwork. In a nutshell, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in Les Jardins des Mozart - and loved its location. Don't stay here if you're a prince/princess type. Stay here if you like to be independent, are independent minded and love value for money. It was great. Caroline
