We stayed at the Lakomaki Forest Manor for two nights and extended our stay for an additional night because it was such a wonderful experience. The manor is located in Central Finland, near Pyhä-Häkki National Park and approximately 60 km from the Jyväskylä airport. Minna, Pasi, and their daughter run this delightful bed & breakfast, providing an authentic Finnish experience with a bountiful breakfast consisting of fresh cooked breads, berries, coffee, cheeses, and meats. There are several types of saunas, the original Finnish smoke sauna and a firewood sauna. The rooms were upstairs with a shared bath and shower. The manor is very large and cared for lovingly by the family. The second-floor, shared space is good for socializing, playing board games, making tea/coffee, or watching television. The home is located in the forest so it was very quiet and peaceful. We had been traveling in Finland for a month and this was our most memorable stay. We will be back!
