All Right Holiday Cottage

Travelled together with my wife and brother - we all enjoyed our stay. It's a clean place, with enough kitchen facilities, two bathrooms and a shower room. Wi-fi was glitching quite a lot, but at least it was free :) There were only 2 parking spots on site, but there was plenty of space outside, on the nearby street. The breakfasts were kinda cool as well. I've heard they'll be moving closer to the center of Helsinki, so I'm definitely coming back there next time!

This place is fits best to someone who travels through many cities and/or has a tight budget. It is simple, clean and quite cozy. It is located 15 minutes by subway from city center. Therefore, you will see not just a pretty city center, but a residential area as well. Supermarket and swimming pool with saunas are in 2 minutes walk from the hotel.

There are many Russian guests staying in the hotel, since the owner is Russian. I didn`t find this bothersome - just be aware.

Reception is open from 14.00 til 18.00, but you just give them a message if you will arrive outside of these hours.

If you want to have a relaxing time in Helsinki and see only the prettiest sides of it, choose a hotel which is central and more expensive.

As for a budget place with breakfast included, the Allright Hotel deal is more than fair.

Nice place!

Good deal for a budget stay

So, I came here thinking it was a hostel like any other, but was sorely disappointed.

Firstly, it only luck that I am a Russian speaker so I got by with the other guests - barely. There was quite a bit of tension with all the Russians, so I couldn't really 'gel' with most of them. 

Secondly, they is no permanent staff on site so you can only check in between 1400 -2000. I arrives at 1100, but luckily there was a couple standing outside smoking, so I could at least drop off my bag and look around for a bit. 

As there is no staff, there is no one to monitor behaviour. As such, I was awoken at 0600 by a drunken guest for two nights of my stay, either insisting I get up and drink with him, or asking me for cigarettes. 

Breakfast was feeble- just sausage slice on bread, yoghurt and biscuit with an apple. 

There was no social room. The kitchen was a small house kitchen with seating for four. I had to wait ages for my turn to get any cooking done. 

The owner and her staff were genuinely nice, but that really doesn't compensate for having to endure the experience, especially in a hostel do far from the centre. 

Final thought, 2 days is enough to see Helsinki. I stayed for four and ended up just going to the cinema on the last two! (Films are in English)
