Plantation Island Resort

I first visited Plantation Island as a kid some 30 some odd years ago when my folks took my brother and I, and of course that was like a magic experience. I've always wanted to go back and re-live that memory, but I was always cautious because your view of the world changes as you get older... sometimes when you revisit places from your childhood, theres some dissapointment or sadness as the worlds moved on and you can't quite recapture that feeling you had when you were a kid. I am happy to report, that now as a 42 year old dude... I walked into Plantation Island and instantly felt like that kid again, everything was exactly as I remembered. This is a special place to go for a holiday, and to be honest, I don't think its going to be for everyone. It's an authentic place, its not trying to be ostentatious or flashy - if thats what you like in a holiday, you're probably not going to enjoy it as much. If you're a person that enjoys the simple things though... just sit at the bar and listen to the staff jamming out on the guitar at lunch, then walk right off the beach with your snorkel and go float around looking at tropical fish... there's life here, kids running around having a good time, all sorts of activities to do, friendly staff, chill vibes. This is a generational place, and its not for everyone, but for me I'm struggling to think of where I'd go next, I just want to go back again next year... I brought my daughter and her friend along this time and they had a blast. We will be back, and without a doubt they will be back with their families too...
