Hotel Leon

Excellent weekend gateway. Peaceful, pleasant, beautiful scenery. Staff is helpful, hotel facilities new and well maintained. Parking is free. It's relatively close to the center of the town and the termal baths. I would highly recommend and will definitely be coming back to visit!


Not so old hotel wit nice view to Debar lake, comfort and clean rooms. very friendly staf, recommendation for dinner. Very tasty food in restaurant. Very god place to try local kitchen. Ask for room on the lake side.

Highly recommend

We stayed here for a night to break the drive from northern Albanian to Skopje. The hotel all looks very new and in good order. It is hidden away behind a petrol station. 

Check in took a little time as the young man at the desk/restaurant did not appear to have the authority to check us in, and we had to wait a little bit for the owner arrive, but everything was sorted out in the end. We had to leave our passport on check in, which was just locked into a desk drawer, which we were not happy about. Credit card pre-authorisation and a copy of passport should be good enough for hotels nowadays.  

The room was fine and had a balcony overlooking the hotel's restaurant towards the lake. The bathroom was clean but the fittings were a bit cheap, and when we showed water leaked everywhere. We tried to mop up the water the best we could. 

There appeared to be no soundproofing in the walls and unfortunately for us, staying in the adjacent guest room were a couple of guys who were very loud and watched the television all night at a very loud volume. It was so bad we attempted to contact reception about it so we could move rooms, but nobody was there so we just had to put up with it.  

On a positive note, we had to leave a bit earlier than the usual breakfast service time and the hotel was nice enough to prepare us breakfast at an earlier time.

OK for a night

The Hotel is less than average, located above gas station a fact that is not obvious when you look at the photos. Breakfast was minimal, Room maintenance should be improved if they want tourists to come, toilet's seat was broken, and bed mattress should be replaced. WiFi connection is bad using password that not work. Could pay with my credit card due to WiFi connection problem. The positive issue is that Staff was trying to do their best.
