Cooling and misterios vila, with traditional influence.
This villa is in a small village with narrow streets, was once a stable of animals, now restored, a stone and wood villa. It is very cool, with a specific smell of stone and wood, arranged in a traditional style. Better cleaning should be done, especially in the bathroom and the kitchen available to tourists. Basic facilityes

We took refuge in Villa Ilinden when part of our hike of the Via Egnatia got waylaid by bad weather. We had been planning to stay at Villa Dihovo as recommended by our walking guide, but found it full, and the owner kindly arranged for us to stay at Villa Ilinden but with dinner and breakfast at Villa Dihovo. I think this was probably the best of both worlds, as we had the beautiful Ilinden to ourselves for the night (as opposed to large groups of hikers and bikers at Villa Dihovo) while still enjoying two hearty meals.

The owner of Villa Ilinden speaks very good English, and was helpful and kind - staying to make us a cup of coffee and make sure we were settled in, before leaving us in privacy in the lovely wood-panelled cottage bedroom. We had a nice warm and very quiet sleep despite the bad weather, and the bathroom is clean and the hot shower a pleasant surprise in an otherwise quite basic old cottage. I only give it 4 rather than 5/5 to reflect the fact it's a shared bathroom between the two guest roms (though we had it to ourselves on this occasion). Definitely recommend if you're in Dihovo.

Note: The owner gave us a written receipt for our stay. We didn't really understand what this was for, so didn't keep it in a safe place or anything. But beware! If you are travelling on across the border to Greece, then the border police may ask questions about where you have been staying - the sheet is to help with this.

Lovely place to stay in charming Dihovo

This place is picturesque. No doubt about it. What I recommend is for you to take the tour and leave. You really don`t want to stay there. The place inside is covered with dirt and dust. The owners are lovely people, but they don`t try to do much about it I am afraid. I gave this place a chance, one evening only. I do hope this review will initiate some changes for the better.
