Bata Hotel

I spent a week in Addis, and stayed at the Bata Hotel. It was close to the airport (maybe 10 minutes away) and I was quickly checked in. The reception staff (the 2 ladies I met) spoke quite good English, which was a blessing - they were both incredibly helpful and friendly, and more than accommodating. I had a minor issue with the shower and requested a room with a bath, which she arranged efficiently. This new room was 804 - Id say probably the best room in the hotel (though 704, 604 and 504 will be good, too): corner views and facing away from the busy main road. Avoid rooms close to the elevator: although you WiFi will probably be stronger, there's a big building being constructed next door which blocks the view - also, lots of traffic at the elevators. Breakfast was included - the restaurant doesn't belong to the hotel, but they have an agreement which was convenient. Try the shiro! Delicious. I will certainly be staying here again next time I'm in Addis.
