My fiancé' and I stayed for several days at the Barlovento and totally enjoyed our time there. The breakfast was very good, excellent common area and the hosts were helpful and spoke great English, if you need that. Roberto is familiar with the area and can recommend a good cafe on the beach or nice restaurant in town. We will return for sure!

This was a nice hostel.  Nice veranda with hammocks and sitting area and a nice kitchen area.  The yard is very nice.  About a five minute walk to the beach.  Very quiet place which was great.  Great WiFi and  air conditioning.  Could of used extra blankets in the room.  No hot water the last day. A few too many regulations for my liking (no hanging towels/clothes outside, we are at the beach?)  Smokers need to leave the property (lots of room in one corner of the property for a small table and chairs).  We didn't find the woman running the place as friendly as some may have suggested, but she was ok.  The cleaning lady was great. Good breakfast provided.

Conveniently located because it is near Montañita but in a quiet and beautiful beach. It has the amenities of a small cottage, easy access and the owners are great people, very friendly and make you feel at home. I was a couple of days with my girlfriend and it was fantastic!

The hostel was very clean and near the beach.  Olancito is delightful.  We plan to return next winter for several weeks. Roberto and Jacqualina were most gracious.  Bed was comfy, beer was cold, and breakfast was great.

Olancito is wonderful

This hotel is in Oloncito, a tiny "suburb" a 10 minute walk south of town.  The room was very clean, the place is well kept.  It is a little out of the way but the walk is really not bad if you walk down the beach vs. down the highway.  There are wind chimes and hammocks all over the grounds for you to use, as well as an outdoor TV with plenty of DVDs.  The included breakfast is great -- scrambled eggs, bread, fruit, and brewed coffee made with purified water.  I recommend this place if you don't mind staying away from the center of town.
