Las Puertas del Paraíso

For our second trip to DR as a couple, we chose to settle for 10 days at Rio San Juan. Our accommodation had to be comfy, clean, and close to attractions and beaches. We could not have chosen a better place. Our bungalow, the Colibri, is spacious, clean and airy with a view of a luscious garden. First, Giovanni arranged to have us picked up at the Puerto Plata airport making the arrival smooth and easy after a tiring plane ride. Upon arrival, Lisbet greeted us warmly and showed us to our lodging. Later on, we had our first meal at the on-site restaurant, one of the top rated ones in the area. We started with the best Lambi Ceviche we’ve ever had followed by the Langostina in house sauce and calmars a la plancha accompanied by an excellent bottle of Sicilian wine. We had several other meals here, it was that good. The breakfasts were fresh, complete, and served by the pool. Definitely coming back to this most wonderful paradise!
