Boegeholmen Bed & Breakfast

This is a lovely suite on the ground floor of a 1904 Danish romantic architectured, stone and wood house. Being set up a flight of stone stairs and back from the coastal road, it is very quiet with an excellent view of the Øresund just across the coastal road and Sweden in the distance. The rooms are tastefully furnished with simple but comfortable couch and bed, and the eclectic decor includes items from the owners' Asian travels. I love the fact that there is no TV, just a slow WiFi connection that allows you to keep in touch, but encourages you to focus on where you are. There are a multitude of candles for those who venture to turn off the electric lights. The neighborhood to the south is in keeping with the ambiance of a quieter time, featuring a number of fishermen's cottages in moss-coated reed thatch. If you choose to take breakfast, it is of high quality -- lots of fresh rolls, butter, fruit, cheeses, muesli, yogurt, juice, milk, and excellent coffee. The siting is wonderful for access to Kronborg Castle and Louisiana, but away from the crowds.
