Good accomodation in a beautiful part of the country. Charming building with simple, nice, clean and spacious rooms. Cozy casual restaurant with classical Danish dishes, worth visiting. The only slight negatives for me were some noise from the road in the evening, and that the room was a bit hot. All in all a nice experience.

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. Located in a rural area but clean and comfortable. Restaurant in the building and convenient parking. Recommend.

The building is from 1884, perfectly renovated.Spacious and clean room, breakfast is good.

It is perfectly ok for short stay if you need to sleep and continue. Restaurant in house is handy; food ok.

We had a pleasant stay at Auning Kro. I was able to easily split the double bed into separate twins. I think it must be a dog friendly place as I met a nice dog there after hearing barking in the halls. The service is limited by a lack of staff. We were treated well when we could catch someone. There is a nice, well-lit dining room (with limited kitchen hours), and more to my liking, a smaller, dark bar room where I struck up a conversation with a friendly Dane. The location is quite central, across from the library. This can mean steady, low traffic noise in the morning (mostly a lot of swishing sounds). A nice bakery is a very short walk away. Our room had a strong WiFi signal, and the radiators were effective in keeping the room warm when needed.

A Nice Regional Inn

Staying at a 'kro' in Denmark is sometimes like a bed and breakfast, but the facilities and conditions at this kro is more like a hotel. The rooms seem to have been renovated recently, with a great bathroom with lots of space. Check-in and -out was efficient and the reception desk easy to find. The room was also clean and with lots of space and a TV that could be moved to be watched from the bed. Wifi was free and of fine quality. We had a room facing the street, but a quiet place like this does not have much traffic. Breakfast had a good selection of food in the restaurant. Maybe it should be mentioned that parking is free just outside the hotel door.

Like a hotel

I happened upon this hotel as an overnight stay prior to a flight from AAR airport, and whilst this appeared to be cheap online reviews seemed okay so did an online reservation.  However, for some reason when I arrived they required me to write more details upon entry (not sure why this wasn't captured as part of the online booking) but nonetheless I still had a reservation so all was fine, and the receptionist was happy to arrange a taxi for the trip to the airport next morning.

The hotel itself is quite small - a narrow reception next to the stairs with a smoking room to the left and dining area to the right where you'll pass through an intermediate section containing four tables and a servery that functions as their bar, probably suitable for 10 people before it begins to get too crowded.  However, the bedrooms are pretty roomy with quiet and pleasant views out the back, consisting of modern fittings in a slightly worn environment as though someone's quickly updated some aspects but wanted to leave the existing traditional character in place.

The bathroom was clean and spacious with underfloor heating - nice!  Despite it being a chilly night the room was lovely and warm (I ended up turning the heating down) but I encountered a smell of smoke the next morning, guessing from the room below despite the windows being shut.

That evening I asked about eating and was informed about another dining establishment nearby (shown on the map) but I decided to eat in - there was a single table already set for me when I wandered down to their restaurant.  Based upon an online recommendation I tried out their casserole which consisted of pork lumps and crispy curls of smoky bacon in a rich creamy orange sauce (not quite BBQ, more mild masala).  I chose rice rather than chips so a side dish of curry-roasted coconut was provided, washed down with a Thor beer or two.  The entire meal plus beers was very reasonably priced, and fulfilling for that night's meal.

Breakfast was included with the room; given the snow conditions I requested my taxi time be brought a bit earlier and the morning receptionist happily arranged that whilst I breakfasted on the unattended small options which were basic but it was sufficient for my needs - the amount put out looked indicated only three/four guests staying.

There isn't a large amount around of an evening - more of a traveller's place - and not much for kids or families, but very reasonable for the overnight stay and meal; if I had to return I would do so.

Cheap, basic and only 20 mins away from the airport.

This hotel, or "Kro", is simple and somewhat lacking in charm and personality, but clean and allows for a quiet night's rest. Dinner in the restaurant was good without being special. Breakfast was skimpy and poor to my eye, but sufficient to get the day started. While not being a piority choice for my next drive around Denmark, I would be content to stay there again. Evening staff was nice, morning staff more brisk.

Calm and clean not far from Aarhus

Our booking confirmation said that there were 4 beds included. Even though I had this on paper they denied this was the case. So I even ended up having to pay for an extra bed. It is NOT ok to advertise and confirm a service that is then not included and they charge extra.There was a lot of noise from the street until late night and early morning. Overall a very unpleasant stay.
