I went here on a business trip, and decided to check this hotel out as we considered staying here for a weekend later. The very quick response is “nope”. 

I had a “studio suite” which first of isn’t in the main building, rather in the building behind. Secondly that building is all “student housing”, except roughly five units that the hotel owns, which makes it  evident this was built as student accommodation too. That also mean you have a poorly designed bedroom/kitchen/“living room” in one, where the noise of the fridge 5 feet from you, will keep you awake. It doesn’t help that the bed feels unbelievably cheap, and again student’y, with really bad sleep comfort. 

The only reason for two stars, and not one, is the staff which are nice and the location. 

But overall - H*** no!

Maybe for backpackers

Very nice boutique hotel with nicely furnished suites, centrally located right by the Aarhus river and close to the harbor.
The rooms are large "apartments" with living room, bedroom, bathroom and hallway.
The staff is very friendly and service minded.

Hotel Ferdinand is the place where I will stay the next time in Aarhus, and the next and… ..
Lovely suite with a large living room with sofa and dining table, large bedroom with a comfortable bed and spacy bathroom.
The staff is very helpful and welcoming.
A delicious breakfast buffet where quality is cherished. Not lavish, but with everything needed.

Outstanding hotel!

This Hotel cannot be more central. Location is directly in the heart of Aarhus. 

Parking ca be a bit of a challenge. Check in is in the restaurant and swift. Were upgraded to a suite. NICE! Large room with everything you need. Fridge, coffee facilities large tv etc. At first the bed looks really comfortable. However it’s very hollow, and way to soft for my liking.

Expect some noise from the street which are home for many bars and restaurants. 

As mentioned elsewhere, the carpet could use some attention. Stains. 

Had a few drinks before going out, and the staff is very service minded and skilled.

Location...

In sum a disappointment. rooms with carpet floors are generally suspicious to me. This has come true here. Abused and not well cleaned (e.g. lampshade in the living room photo), the stains obviously move by a lighting change... disgusting. This morning after a bad breakfast (see photos, yes, that was the whole Buffet) we welcomed our towels in the stairwell on the ground floor... without words. Even the volume of light in front of the house deserves a special surprise. Until 3 o'clock at night you can't sleep when the windows are open. And even at the window it's still very hot!!!

Suites are more like residential rooms

Stayed for several days in May & June 2019.Stayed in double room with en suite.
Wonderful helpful staff. Very clean room etc. Great location right in old city. Secure area.
Staff helped with Taxi service and advice about city. Walking distance to all sights.
Great value for $. 
Supermarkets and eating very close.

Central & great hosts

This place was booked for me by colleagues. Although I arrived late (easy walk from the train station) they were accommodating and I had no problems checking in. I was upgraded to a suite which provided very nice rooms-more like staying in an apartment rather than a hotel. Although there was a disco nearby I was not bothered by the noise and the lack of automobile traffic in the area was a plus. 
The restaurant was wonderful-the dinner staff enjoyed explaining their dishes and having a conversation with a single traveller. Breakfast was also very nice.

Great B and B type of place to stay in Aarhaus

Ferdinand is more a restaurant that offers hotelservice, than the other way around. There is no really reception - you jusk walk into the restaurant, where the very kind and professional staff helps you with keys an so on.
The hotel offers 7 suites and some studioapartments. The suites are spacious, with modern, kínd of nightclubbish decor and with very good and comfortable beds. As the hotel lies in the middle of the clubbing-area you can expect some noise. I stayed at the top floor (suite 7) and heard very little.
Spacious bathroom with good products. 
The breakfast is minimalistic - but offers good quality products, and very nice bread.
Try the restaurant connected to the hotel - very noice

The hotel is made of rebuild resident apartments, very central location. The room was clean, but it is way to loud during the night outside. 
During my stay, several personal things (like my medicine) disappeared from my bathroom - this is really NO GO!
Cannot recommend.

Good location, very noisy nights, overpriced

The bed was very comfy and the apartment was roomy. Small balcony was a bonus, as my room was at the back of the hotel it overlooked the rear courtyard. Nice to sit and have a coffee in the sunshine. They charge 15Kr for one Nespresso Pod but its good coffee and cheaper than buying in a cafe. Good kitchen area with fridge, freezer and microwave. Also washing machine and tumble drier.

There was a really bad smell coming from the bathroom, another guest in a separate room had the same problem. My room was on the top floor, the corridor floors were covered in a blanket, looked like it was in the middle of some renovation or repairs, no explanation given. Generally the apartment didn't feel clean but it was.

You have to enter via a side door under an arch and the building seemed quite empty - A bit spooky if you are on your own. Even at the back the noise from the pubs on the front was loud, didn't bother me but it might some people (use the earphones provided!) - bottle bin lorries at dawn were very loud!
