We came to Pension Max after following the Kamloipe from Schoeneck where we hired X-country ski equipment at very good prices. Rooms were comfortable and clean and the road was pretty quiet. We were made breakfast by a young man who also runs a very popular restaurant about 400 m down the road. This made for an excellent combination of good food and evening walk all at very reasonable prices. Our travelling companion asked for a cooked breakfast for the day she was skiing back to Schoeneck rather than the more than adequate cold meat and cheese with juice and good coffee. The result was a plate of bacon with 4 eggs, each !!! It was useful to have a multilingual and helpful host ! English visitors are something of a rarity in this area.
