Anassa Hotel

The other day we were privileged to check into the Anassa Hotel in Cyprus. Member of the Leading Hotels of the World and 5 star luxury hotel. The hotel finds itself in a fantastic location on a hill above the mediterranean sea. It is a perfect luxurious hideaway from other mass tourism places in Cyprus. The hotel complex is embedded in gardens with many cypress trees and indigenous plants and the architecture of the villas resemble the typical Cypriot character. In general we had the feeling that this hotel showcases the Cypriot traditions and identifies with them, more than any other hotels we stayed in. Architecture is of course only one aspect but you will encounter this Cypriot aspect in your welcome gift, the beautiful breakfast terrace under the olive tree, the use of local ingredients in your meals and the typical Cypriot hospitality with which the whole staff welcomes you. After a very warm welcome by Michalis and a smooth Check In on a comfortable sofa we were escorted to our room. Somehow, I just do not like those reception counters anymore and prefer the seated "Check In" it makes everything so much more comfortable and pleasant. We had a sea view room and we recommend taking a room category with sea view because the view is simply amazing. Room was quite big with two lounge sofas to enjoy the view. Bathroom comes with shower and bath tub and toilette in a separate room. The balcony is quite small but had some very comfortable chairs outside to sit and enjoy the view. Design and color of the room and bathroom are warm and friendly and in combination with the sun light it creates a beautiful atmosphere in your room. Pools and beach are fantastic, not crowded at all and the whole hotel complex is so widespread that it gives you enough room and space to enjoy some quiet moments alone, even if the hotel is fully booked. And there is of course our favorite place, the amazing terrace with this stunning view over the Mediterranean Sea. Thank you Lucy, for making it possible that we could have our "last lunch" on this terrace and enjoy some more beautiful moments before leaving. All in all it was a wonderful stay, Cypriot hospitality at its best in a beautifully secluded location. We can't wait to come again and have another beautiful stay at Anissa.
