It was a good/nice trip to Havana and the people are very friendly and its good to be on the island,I will be back in that Hotel for sure. I like the place and the history of Cuba.I would like to live there and the cars are beautiful.

We did not stay here, but we enjoyed walking inside the lobby and viewing the gorgeous stained glass windows inside.  Well worth a stop during your walking tour of Old Havana.  You can get something to eat or drink, and there is a gift shop in the lobby as well.

Hotel Raquel is a destination in itself. The building is simply magnificent and the perfect antidote to a Holiday Inn Express or similar. It contains some memorable works of art and a venerable lift, a spectacular roof terrace and some beautiful stained glass.

The signage suggested there were some spa facilities in the basement but alas I think this originates from an earlier era. On the practical side, the Wifi was  limited and unreliable and the breakfast service was a bit disorganised

A beautiful hotel in the old town of Havana. Perfectly located for walking around the historical plazas and main streets all within 10mins walk. 
Our room had high ceilings, hairdryer and shampoos etc and relatively good air con. Lovely rooftop terrace. We also had 5 hrs wifi included.
Negatives was a little bit faulty towers. You have to bang on the door to get in if you arrive after 10pm and breakfasts were just ok. Old lift was a bit hit or miss. This all said would stay again.

Beautiful and historic architecture. Well located within Havana, with ready walking access to many nearby restaurants, bars and sights. While there were some minor issues with the shower head and water temperature, overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Make sure you go up to the roof to see stunning city views!

Beautiful hotel lobby to visit in Havana

There is positive and negative at this hotel, the building has its colonial past charms and very nice details, bring you back many years ago.
Refurbishments would be more than welcome all over!
We didn't take the lift an historical Masterpiece!
To conclude was ok for one night as we were just stopping over La havana 


OK FOR ONE NIGHT 

I stayed twice here at the start and end of our trip- first experience was awful - receptionist was surly and unwelcoming, wouldn't help me find an Etecsa office to get a wifi card, they had no wifi either. Our room was awful- 101, it smelt damp and could barely see, there was no water let alone hot water when I went to shower.  Breakfast was unappetising and very basic.  The final stay - we had an overnight manager who was waiting for us at the door at 1am, he was welcoming and had everything ready for us to check in and we had the nicest room 203 which has 3 balconies and light bright airy and a pleasant place to stay in - the bathroom worked - still no hot water though and breakfast was really good and excellent selection.  The hotel is in the pedestrian zone and cars can get to the hotel and park which is handy as it is quieter than most hotels in Havana - the dogs and roosters on the roof opposite  crowing will be noisy though in the very early hours.   It is excellent location for Plaza  Vieja and most of the sights are easily within walking distance.

Good location but in need of some attention

Stayed here for three nights until we were moved because of having no water. Right in the middle of old town with access to everything as walking is easy. Staff are not real interested in listening or helping with anything, especially the night receptionist. Osmani was probably the best but they were more interested in watching the soccer than the problems with ther water. Rooms were old but comfortable except the air con didn't work. Breakfast was very limited and had a fruit plate and eggs. Drinks were incredibly expensive so go outside to bars next door and pay half the price.

Old charm but...

I stayed in this hotel whilst touring Havana for one night.
It is situated in the centre of old Havana,close to all amenities and historic sights.
The hotel building is beautiful and historic and has some lovely architecture.
My room was quite a nice size with a good size bathroom.There were some shower gel,shampoo and a hairdryer you could use as well.
However there was no hot water available when i arrived and the following morning no water at all!
This was very disappointing as the hotel itself had a lot of charm.
There was a fridge mini bar in the room but obviously you have to pay for anything you use.
The windows in the room lead onto a small balcony which was nice as i could see some of the streets below.
Breakfast was average and the coffee quite strong.
I found the reception staff in the morning quite rude and they kept you waiting for quite a bit until they dealt with you.
There is a old fashioned lift which was great to use but i could imagine there are some problems with it at times.
Overall not too bad a stay for one night.I recommend you view the roof terrace,great views.

Old Havana Hotel

I stayed at the hotel on two occasions.  On the night I arrived there was no hot water and this persisted until mid-morning as they were waiting for a fuel delivery.  The hotel is charming.  The inner rooms have no windows, just one to the inner courtyard, which can be noisy at times.  The rooms are comfortable, but basic for a 3* hotel.  Breakfast is average.  The location in the Old Town is superb and I would consider using the hotel again were I to return to Havana.
