Hotel Makarska

Despite two weeks of appalling weather my wife and I had a fantastic fortnight in this hotel. It is located just above a picturesque tranquil bay which provides a pleasant view of nearby islands. During our stay, we saw a few pleasure boats on the sea and the occasional local fisherman. The food was fantastic and the staff went a long way helping us make the most of freak, disappointing weather. The place was relaxing, with friendly, informal and respectful staff. The young restaurant and bar staff were mainly from nearby countries and the Tui reps were from a range of Scandinavian countries. All staff worked from the same admirable agenda. The layout of the hotel would be challenging for less mobile guests on account of the different levels on the site. Evening entertainment was low key but enjoyable with opportunities for dancing. Furnishings were modern and the style was uncluttered. Our package allowed for one meal in the posh culinarium. We enjoyed our evening there but it convinced us that the fare in the main restaurant was admirable. The bedroom had a pleasant sea view and met all our needs apart from being unable to receive UK news on the TV.
