We were stranded in Xichang at the end of Chinese New Year trying to make our way to Chengdu from Shangri La, via Panzhihua. We managed to escape Panzhihua and get one step closer to Chengdu in Xichang, this hostel was a godsend, so comfortable and clean, with great high pressure hot showers, thick sound proof walls, and really kind staff. It was a bit pricey compared to other hostels, but was worth it in the end. Really nice common area, beautifully decorated. Most shops were closed for the holiday so being able to spend time in the common area was great. Helpful staff tried to help us get a car to Chengdu, and dircted us to the lake with clear instructions. Food was okay, noodles were the best. Played an english movie on the common area tv screen one night which was very nice. If you arrive via bus in Xichang, have the address written in chinese for a taxi ride to the hostel (20-30 rmb).
