Hanting Express Hotel

I made a side trip from Shanghai to visit the hometown of the current president of China. With no international hotel chain presence, I was stuck to find only local state owned or party owned hotels at super inflated prices. I stumbled onto this hotel at very discounted rates and did not have much expectations. The style is similar to the Starwood - Aloft by W hotels without the cool hip feel but think a very sterile, very blah Aloft with white walls and traditional Chinese decoration. The bed is the typical China hard king size on a platform with an enclosed glass shower (think gold fish bowl), with an option to use a window blind type privacy shield if you really need privacy. The washroom (toilet) and shower use a common glass door to close so if you are showering and someone does need to use toilet, it will be a toss up as to which enclosure gets the door. Good relatively clean hotel for the money paid. Location is in a more industrial part of town but a 5 minute walk to the main strip with a KFC, and 24 hour Taiwan eatery (think soy milk and fried dough sticks)
