Two MacDonnell Road

I stayed at 2 MacDonnell Road in a Garden/Skyline Deluxe Suite room for 2 months as part of my move to Hong Kong. While on the pricier end, the room and hotel was a perfect initial start to Hong Kong. The hotel is conveniently located a short 15 minute walk to Central (albeit is not close to the Mid-Levels escalators, so walking up from Central involves some hills!), and across the road from the Botanic Gardens. There is also a shuttle service to/from Central at Ice House Street and the IFC, although I did not personally use it often. For long stays (>28 days), breakfast during the working week is complimentary (offering a range of Western and Asian options eg full English breakfast, omelette, congee etc), as is a laundry allowance of about 8 pounds per week. These were significant value adds for starting the working day and not having the hassle of dealing with laundry yourself. The Garden/Skyline Deluxe Suite is a suitably large room for a long stay, with good storage space and nice views across the Botanic Gardens. Shower temperature and water pressure is good, and couch is very comfortable. WiFi was reliable. My only gripes with the room were that the TV could do with an upgrade (it is not a smart TV, so you are limited to the included live TV channels unless you bring your own device for streaming). The kitchen is also not particularly functional, and guests are encouraged to only heat food using the stovetop rather than actually cook. That said, all in all I very much enjoyed my stay at Two MacDonnell Road and would definitely recommend it to other corporate clients in the process of moving to Hong Kong.
