JW Marriott Hotel Shenzhen

I had an excellent experience at the JW in Shenzhen. Every aspect of the service was top-notch, from the car service, door team, and reception to the concierge, restaurant staff, and cleaning crew. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and spoke good English. They were even patient with my attempts at Chinese! It would have been nice if the executive lounge staff could have remembered us after three or four visits, especially since we were staying for six nights. It was a minor issue, though, as it didn’t significantly affect our stay. The gym was well-equipped, but the free weight section tended to get crowded, especially with 2-3 personal trainers working simultaneously. I’d suggest moving the free weights to a different area where they could have more space, since the weight machines seemed less popular. The pool was nice, although there weren't many sunbeds available. The spa was fantastic! I had been dealing with moderate hip discomfort for weeks, but my masseur worked wonders during my appointment on Thursday. I was so thankful, since I was competing in Hyrox in Beijing on Saturday and I had no issues with my hip as a result of this. Breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of choices. However, they could use more glasses for fruit juice, as they often ran out, and there were no teaspoons available. I explored the other restaurants but wasn’t particularly inspired, given the many dining options in Shenzhen. While the hotel isn’t centrally located, it was only about a 10-minute taxi ride to Coco Park. There are also several small eateries and coffee shops nearby, and the MTR station is just a 3-4 minute walk away. The hotel is approximately 30 minutes from the airport and about 10 minutes from Futian Station.
