First, the positives. The welcome was very warm, with a good welcoming smile and a hot towel to refresh yourself. The rooms are with good quality decor, touch switches and a minibar, which was with drinks and beer. So, with my experience with Chinese hotels, the first thing I did was to put in the complimentary bottles of water so I could cool it down. Sure enough, a little while later, when i opened my bottle of whisky, I asked for ice cubes or cold water. I was refused. So the cold water from the minibar came in most handy. The rooms had free WiFi which was quite fast. About the room, Very Ordinary place, room like a dungeon. The window is just so so small, (less than 90 cm, or 3 feet wide) that a person feels trapped. The hotel is designed like the flat U like most hotels, and I was allotted the corner room, which wasn't rectangular but rhomboid. I suppose that's because my assistant must have chosen a cheaper room. Hence, avoid falling into that price trap. The other rooms did seem better, hence, probably, it's my mistake of not having being alert while booking. Also, the management must pay attention to the maintenance. One beside lamp was broken.The air conditioning was comfortable. I did not use the restaurant, hence, cannot comment. The biggest advantage is the location. I came here for business, and it's quite close to the business areas. Also, quite accessible to the Jieyang (Chaoshan) Airport, or the Chaoshan high speed train station. But make sure you plan ahead, as morning or evening traffic can cause delays.
