I'm not going to lie, it is a little dingy and depressing and we definitely walked past a booty call, but for £20 a night it's really quite decent - if you want the Ritz then go to the Ritz. 7 minute down the road from the tube station on a good line. Room cleaned everyday, receptionist was very helpful, spoke a bit of English and stored your bags for free on the day you checked out. Room service every day, nice bathroom, in-room wifi, great AC, freebies like 2 water bottles, toothbrush and slippers. Never made it in time for breakfast but I'm sure it was fine! The only possible issue was that it's right by a busy road, but just bring earplugs and that sorts it. It's the kind of place you won't want to sit in all day, but then again you're in Shanghai so why would you anyway?!
