34 reviewsJitai Hotels ar e a chain, but this was a hotel with an individual feel. Close to the main Shanghai Railway station and metro lines 1, 3 and 4, it was easy to get around from here. The hotel is set away from the road and looks disconcertingly neglected from the outside, but it is clean, has good showers, and was good value. A family room was £47 a night (would sleep 3-4) without breakfast with the membership option (I don't know if this is available for tourists) or £57 without.. It was a duplex room, with a double bed upstairs and two wide singles downstairs. Free wi-fi. Good view out to Suzhou creek and the M50 arrts district. The shower and toilet were glass walled, so the people upstairs could see into the toilet - strange, and needed some strategically placed towels to afford privacy. Staff only spoke limited english, and the hotel does not take credit cards - only cash (ATMs near station). Good breakfasts in 3rd floor restaurant.
