Binyuan Apartment Hotel

I booked this hotel with Booking.com, but as my trip was rather long I couldn't review it on their site. We (me, my wife and our 18 years old daughter) staid there for 6 nights in early May and we believe it was a very good combination of price, location and quiet nights. I should add that we love walking ... there is nothing of significant touristic interest just around the hotel, but the Bund is less than 10 minutes away (and the Costa Caffee located just at the edge of the Huangpu Park has amazing Lattes and paninis). The rooms are good, reasonably sized. They have a small but functional kitchen area and, upon request, they provide cups, plates, etc. A special note on payments: they accept credit cards for the reservation, but NOT for the actual payment (that has to be done upon arrival), for which they accept only cash (chinese yuans). If you don't have enough local cash on you, you can pay for just the first night, and bring back the rest of the money later. For those interested in getting there, here are a few tips (a few reviews I've read are somewhat misleading). The Binyuan is located in a rather tall building, shared with other hotels and other companies. This building is located on the corner of WuSong Rd. (the main street) and WuChang Rd. (a small side street). This building has three entrances (all connected somehow): the one on the corner is the "Business Center", the one on the main street (WuSong) is another hotel (HengSheng Peninsula, if I remember correctly) and the one on the side street (WuChang) which leads straight to the elevators that take you to the "reception room" (1601) on the 16th floor. This entrance is rather hidden by the entrance of an underground garage (it is not actually on that street, but on the "interior" side of the building). We were provided a "Taxi Card" (see the attached image), but the taxi driver had a tough time to figure out where the hotel was, had to do some detours to actually get to the side street (WuChang) from its other end and then struggled to figure out where the No. 258 was. Once we came out of the taxi, we struggled a bit to figure out the proper entrance (we don't speak any chinese). My advice is that, once you get settled in the room, explore a bit the lobby to identify all the entrances and ask the reception of the other hotel (at the main street entrance) to give you their "Taxi Card" ... this will make the returns by taxi to the hotel much simpler.
