The hotel was clean and slightly expensive, but quite good value for what it was. It is definitely an upmarket hotel - very fancy lobby, clean, well-maintained rooms. We walked to the Shapotou sand amusement park from the hotel - about a 20-minute walk. If I went back to Ningxia, though, I would do this as a day trip from Zhongwei instead of staying overnight. We thought Shapotou was more of a town, but it's really just the amusement park with a couple of big hotels close by. We found a little farm restaurant just down the road for dinner, which was much nicer than the hotel restaurant.
