Mandarin Prosperous Hotel

The hotel is located quite in the center of Ningbo, Tian Yi square can be reached by food and the airport takes 40mins by taxi (the fare is about 40 RMB, watch out!), which makes this hotel a good business shelter. The rooms aren't huge but the space is sufficient, the carpets aren't spotless, I agree, but the cleanliness is good. Besides the minibar, you have two bottles of water and the tea set with a good chinese green tea in case you need it. The rooms have the one-fits-all plugs (no adapters needed) and a free of charge internet connection (which I consider a good plus while on a business trip). The bathroom is nice and tidy, you have two taps since the drinkable water in Ningbo is a limited resource, so brushing your teeths is quite safe. We have tried the lobby bar, small but quite nice, an imported beer costs 15RMB which is a good bargain (do not forget to ask for a COLD one, otherwise they will serve it warm). The breakfast is more chinese than international, anyway a cup of tea plus bread and butter are edible. The restaurant located at the 3rd floor has a good selection of fresh seafood and other chinese dishes, you can see the foods in the dedicated room and make your order assisted by a nicely dressed girl, we tried many different dishes and all were very good. The service is very chinese (which means very kind and very fast) the waiter will stand at your table to serve you. At the lobby there is also a currency exchange service which we found more convenient than the curex boxes at Bejing airport. Overall the hotel is above the average, the price per night is a good bargain for the service provided, if you are a very exhigent westerner you might find the level not appropriate but if you mind to have a clean room, a good restaurant, a free internet connection for a perfect business travel Mandarin is a good budget choice.
