Nanning Xinhua Hotel

We stayed here 10 nights at a cost of 150 Yuen per night in January 2013. I particularly like this hotel as it is a great location. 2.5 km from City Centre with plenty of busses outside to take you there or to the West with the new commercial and Shopping Districts. The Rooms are basic, but have all you need for a stay. A high point is that on the 6th floor they have dryers so that you can wash your own clothes. Breakfast is also available for 18Y per room, but we settled for some fruit or a bread bun that we bought the previous night just around the corner. There are plenty of Coffee shops nearby and a supermarket (HuaLian) is just 10 minutes walk away towards the city. Other restaurants are nearby - the better ones are usually on the second floor of different buildings. but there are lots of walk in Cafe style eateries within 15 minutes walk that will offer a variety of food styles. There is actually a decent restaurant adjacent to the Reception, but prices are a little higher then else where. Still it is very convenient. One to note is the Lemon Duck Restaurant a short 10 minute wale away from the city, just next to the Hawaii Hotel. Great food, but a bit more expensive. The staff at the Hotel are always friendly and helpful, although English is very very scarce. The Front Desk is manned 24 hours a day and is great for late check in - just ensure that you advise them what time you expect to check iin and they will keep the room for you. Remember this is a Budget hotel so the rooms are not perfect. I gave it 4 stars for Value for money, not for the quality of the rooms. Indeed many of the rooms could do with a bit of refurbishment. But the beds are good, the lined clean and they have both heating and Air-Conditioning. One small note, the rooms on the East side have a somewhat better view. All in all, I was very satisified with the hotel. It was our second stay here and my wife tells me that we will stay here the next time as well.
