Last year my friend and I stayed in this guesthouse in July. The guesthouse is indeed run by a lovely family: they gave us the warmest welcome we ever had while traveling around China. Actually, we almost felt like being part of the family - after sharing a Xianese breakfast with them, cooking our national food and even celebrating a birthday party of 赵赵 (Zhaozhao)'s friend. We spoke chinese, but I am sure that they would make a person, who speaks any language, feel just as comfortable... I would be a little biassed, but I will always recommend this place as the best choice to stay in Lijiang. Apart from great hosts, it's just a few minutes off the ever bustling Lijiang city centre, where it becomes considerably quiet; the second floor has a beatifull view over the city and the mountains; and besides that, they brew great coffee! Oh, and if you need to buy some good tea, ask Zhaozhao - he knows the places where you can get it.
