A very interesting 700 year old walled city, which is well worth a visit. As you would expect it is very popular with Chinese visitors who are were as interested in us as Western visitors as they were the city. If you are a tall white westerner expect lots of “hellos”, selfie requests and comments about how strange you look! The city itself is very interesting but be aware it is is full of many tourist stalls and shops. You can walk the wall to get away from the crowds which gives a good view of the city. Try and visit on a weekday as it is very busy at weekends (although anything but quiet at any time)
