This is definitely top my worst hostel/ hotel I ever stay.

Stale smell from aircon.
Graffiti in all walls in the room.
Lots of insect in the ceiling lights.
I would not say there is mattress, it is as hard as platform.
The comforter, pillow, curtain are all stained.
Bitten by bed bugs, you will not be surprised if you see the actual condition of the room.
The share toilet is so smelly that I really need to stop breathing before I stepped in. I have tried 2nd floor toilet but no lights and toilet bowl broken. 3rd floor and 4th floor toilet is too smelly. This is not used by consumers. It is definitely due to maintenance. The bathroom is so dirty, no hook, left a super dirty wet stool, i struggling to figure out to hang my clothings slowly on the door handle. The whole night i dare not drink much water in fear to go to their toilet. Really depressing.

Worst accomodation I ever stay.

Room was ok for 5€. Bathroom and shower pretty weak. Bus was a hoax, full of chinese tuorists shouting and the bus took almost 2 hours (taxi takes 55min). The location was superb thankfully. The owner spoke english but other staff did not. 

Do not take the bus to the mountain

I have no complaints about this hostel but can't exactly say it was out of this world. It was a good place to stay for a night after arriving from the train station. It is conveniently located on the edge of the ancient town, there are many spots to grab a cheap and delicious bite nearby, and the rooms are decent for the price. Not luxurious, but certainly fine. The view from the outdoor lounges is quite nice, though.

Great location, friendly staff and rather cheap - no complaints at all.

Great hostel! We lived in a three-bedroom family room with a wife and child. The beds are wide and quite comfortable. The shower water is always hot. The wifi in the room is working. It's cheap, the perfect place is in the center of LaoJie. You can buy bus tickets to Yellow Mountain right in the hostel.

It's a great hostel.

Cheap hostel and perfect location in the old town. However, some of the staff were very rude. We met two different girls in the reception desk that spoke good English but they were totally unwilling to help us. We felt that we bothered them each time we asked a question (one of them would'nt look up from her phone while talking to us). We gave up after a day and figured out everything by our own. This is the reason behind our 3/5 grade. The night-receptionist and the chef couldn't speak English but they were much nicer and more helpful!
It was very cold (november) in the common areas but we had a good night sleep since the AC worked perfectly. You can't expect much for the price we payed. 

Some rude staff

Nice quite night's sleep (though the hostel felt empty). Wifi worked better than at most hostels in China. Our room had a mouldy smell and some floor boards under the carpet-tiles were breaking through. The place needs a renovation. We were happy to find that the hostel accepts credit cards.

The big plus is that you can plan your tours to the mountains and villages and get information and bookings. The receptionists speak halfway English. The hostel itself is simple but well thought out and tailored to suit the needs of the backpackers. The location is ideal, right on Old Street. If the heating had worked, the room would have been comfortable too.

Nice accommodation for backpackers

We stayed there for 3 nights: a clean and pleasant (twin) room. English speaking staff who are very knowledgeable about excursions to the surrounding area (Mt HuangShan, classified villages).

A pleasant stay

A few meters from the busy Old Street, with plenty of food options and shops around. The service was somewhat poor, and communication was complicated because the girls who attended did not speak English well. The room that touched us on the fourth floor had damp spots, spiders, and in the hallways you can see lizards through the roof and walls. The bathrooms are ugly! Several meters before arriving the smell is felt. It seems that no one cleans them. And I had the bad luck that when I woke up the shopkeeper fell down and hit me in the head. The price of the drinks is right. We have no food there. To stay one night and follow the day.

Nice location, great cleanliness.

We went to Huangshan for 3 days in order to see the Yellow Mountains, which we couldn't do. We arrived at our hotel on Friday afternoon. First impression: well located and clean but very noisy and without curtains. On Saturday we go to the villages of Xidi and Honcun, in the evening I go to the reception to get information about the weather on Sunday and Monday tomorrow to pick the best day for the Yellow Mountains. The two people advise me on Monday because we are going to the weekend: Ok so on Sunday we take advantage to go to Qiyun Shan and in the evening when we get home I check out the various routes in the Yellow Mountains next to another person from the Old Town. And then we can tell this person that we can get information on the next day because they don't have to pay me because they don't plan to pay for it in the next day... but we don't have to pay for it in the next day, so we're going to get a ticket to the Mountain and then we're going to the Mountain and then we're going to the Mountain. So we're going to have a bus on Monday
